HOPE BE WITH YOU | WORLD POETRY DAY
The Gift of Hope
A whole new world is in our sight, a future that is much more bright.
A whole new world is ours to take, letting go of all that’s fake.
A whole new world we can create, to make a change it’s not too late.
The gift of hope is always there, follow it if you dare.
The gift of hope is ours to take, so many changes we can make.
The gift of hope to change our ways, to find our way out of the haze.
It’s time for us to know our worth, happiness a right of birth.
It’s time for us to see the truth, lied to when we’re in our youth.
It’s time for us to know there’s hope, as we release society’s rope.
I know right now things do feel strange, can’t live our lives in our full range.
I know right now we may feel trapped, thinking that our future’s mapped.
I know right now we can’t see light, caught up in the dead of night.
But did we ever really see, the truth of our reality?
Did we ever really live, from a heart space that does give?
Did we ever really know, the abundance that our lives can show?
Now we have a chance to change, as we see a world that’s strange.
Now we have a chance to see, how to set our souls free.
Now we have a chance to be, the change that we wish to see.
Just find your way back to your hearts, reconnecting with your arts.
Find your way back to your soul, know that happiness is the goal.
Find your way to be free, then your true self you will see.
Step by step we’ll find our way, so ourselves we don’t betray.
Step by step we’ll know our worth, happiness a right of birth.
Step by step and one day soon, The Earth will have a massive boom.
Freedom comes in many ways, our vibration we can raise.
Freedom comes through these times, as we learn to be wise.
Freedom comes that I say, humanity will find its way.
Thank you to Sahil Patel for initiating the ‘Hope’ poetry challenge. Sahil has timed the challenge to coincide with World Poetry Day on Sunday March 21st.
And thank you to Carolyn Hastings for inviting me to write.
Sahil has asked that each contributor to the challenge reach out and invite other poets on Medium to bring forth their words of hope. In the spirit of hope, kindness and family I would like to call upon our wonderful Paper Poetry community of writers to contribute. By tagging a few of you here, I’m ‘hoping’ the ball will start rolling, and turn into an all-inclusive sphere of communal hope. 😊 💞
It doesn’t matter if you’ve already contributed to the prompt in another publication. You are more than welcome to submit a new piece here at Paper Poetry. In fact, feel free to write as often and as much as you like on the topic. There is, after all, never enough hope. 😊 💖
I would like to invite the following very talented poets to write for the ‘Hope’ poetry challenge: Felix Otto Bre Venanzio Michele Thomas Victoria Ponte Ivette Cruz
